INFORMATION

We have put together some helpful information about the cruise

to ensure you have an amazing holiday.

We are extremely conscious that you have spent a lot of money and used your time to come and celebrate our special day with us and therefore we want to ensure you have the best time, by doing whatever you want on the cruise.

Whatever works best for you.

It is your holiday!

With a casual wedding thrown in, just for fun.

INFORMATION
THE ITINERARY

We wanted to create a very loose itinerary, so that we get to see you all, but to ensure everyone has their own time to do whatever they wish. We will create a Whats'App group and plan to keep you updated throughout the cruise, with what we're up to and where we are, so you can join us, if you wish.

We think it would be lovely to kick start the cruise off with drinks at the sail away party on the day we board the ship, at the Sundowners bar, as we depart Miami - The time of this will be confirmed closer to the day.

We would also love to do a stag/hen evening, (purely so we can take it in turns of looking after Amelia and getting drunk respectively). On the last evening of the cruise we would love it if we can all get together for a farewell dinner, in the main dining room as we probably won't see each other the morning we depart the ship.

Every day, you will receive the 'Celebrity Today' daily planner which will show you a timetable of everything that's happening on the ship each day, so you can do whatever you fancy.

GETTING ON THE SHIP

We will be staying in Miami for two nights prior to boarding the ship on the 2nd November. We would highly recommend arriving at least the day before, just in case your flight is delayed for any reason. The ship won’t wait for anyone.

Checking in/Embarkation day

On the 2nd November the cruise will depart Miami at 4pm. Check-in opens online or via the Celebrity Cruise App usually a month or so before the cruise departs, but you will receive an email to prompt you to do so. On your online account you will find your luggage tags. Make sure you print these off and attach them to your luggage to speed up the checking in process.

The Miami cruise terminal is around a 15 minute drive from South Beach, Miami. The entire checking in/boarding process takes around 30 minutes. It is advised to arrive at least 45 minutes/half hour before your allocated check-in time. This will be anywhere between 11am – 3pm.

Upon arrival at the cruise port you will be met by staff outside the terminal with luggage trolleys, simply hand over your luggage (make sure the labels are on them) to the guys and head into the cruise terminal. Your luggage will be taken directly to your room, however it may not be in your room by the time you board the ship, therefore it is useful to take a little carry on bag, as you would on a flight, with whatever you may need until your bag arrives.

Upon check-in you will just need to show your passport and booking confirmation. You will be given a cruise card per person, which acts as your room key and card, just like an all-inclusive hotel. Everything on board is cashless. Just like a hotel, the cruise will take a credit card hold of roughly $165 per person. This is not charged, just held for any extras that may occur during your cruise. If it is not spent, the fund will be released after the cruise.

Checking in times will differ for everyone so it is unlikely everybody will have the same check-in time.

SHORE EXCURSIONS & DAYS AT PORT

There are three days where we will be getting off the ship. We think it’s best for everyone to do whatever they want for their days off the ship. If you log on to your cruise account you will see there are shore excursions that can be booked. In all honesty we find that sometimes this can be a little expensive for what they are... however, they are definitely the easiest option as your transportation is already provided and you know that you will be getting back onto the ship on time.

We often tend to do our own thing when we are on shore. All three days at port the ship is docked, meaning you can step straight off the ship onto land. You will not need to take your passport, just your cruise card. There are always loads of taxis as soon as you get off the ship, although these are often overpriced so you may need to haggle! We usually go to a hotel beach for the day or just simply get off the ship and go for a wander round and see what there is to do. If you are going to do this however PLEASE make sure you keep an eye on the time and get back onto the ship at least an hour before they plan to depart or they really will leave without you. We have seen people running to the ship on more than one occasion and we don’t want anyone to be stranded!

Shore excursions are getting booked up already, so if you are going for this option please log on and get these booked ASAP so you don’t miss out.

If you don’t fancy getting off the ship at all, that’s absolutely fine, everything will still be open on board.

DINING

With regards to dining, all passengers will have a reserved seat at the same table, every evening for dinner, in their allocated "main" restaurant. There are four "main" restaurants, our group will be allocated one of these and we will be told which one closer to the time. We have requested the late dining option at 8:30pm. As all of our group are linked together, we have requested x3 large tables to accommodate the group. However, we want to make it very clear that although you will always have a seat at one of these tables for the duration of the cruise, you can still book other restaurants, please do not feel that you have to sit with the group in the same restaurant every evening. We wouldn't want you to miss out on the other restaurants on board!

Another note to add is when it comes to dining in the "main" restaurant, there will be no seating plan on the three tables, so we can all mix around and sit wherever we like for the duration of the cruise – or stay in the same seats throughout, whatever you wish.

There are other complimentary restaurants on board which are included in the cruise package – you can reserve a table for breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the other main dining rooms. There are also other complimentary places to eat, if you didn't fancy a full three course meal, such as the pool grill and the buffet.

There are also specialty restaurants – these however, you have to pay an extra charge for. These vary from a steakhouse or sushi bar to French restaurant etc. When you make a reservation at a specialty restaurant, the extra charges will be added to your on-board account. We would recommend to book these ASAP as they do get booked up quickly.

We will also be eating at one or two of the specialty restaurants on some evenings so please do whatever you wish when it comes to dining. Alternatively – if you wish to just have a table for yourselves each evening then just let us know and we will tell good old karl. We want you to do whatever you want!

When it comes to lunch and breakfast you can eat wherever you like, we do not have a group reservation.

THE BIG DAY

The wedding day is happening on the 7th November, during one of the days at sea.

We will update you all as soon as we have more information but as we are more than a year away all we know is the following…

We will be told when/where we will be getting married two weeks before we depart! This will be anywhere between 11am – 3pm on the day. This will be followed by a reception of drinks/meal (depending on the time) and then dinner in the main restaurant in the evening, followed by drinks and dancing. We are working with our wedding planner to plan our day but will of course keep you updated.

Dress code: Beach/wedding attire – (please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in) we have requested to be married outdoors on the deck overlooking the ocean. The ship will be situated just off of Antigua at the time of the wedding and therefore it will be warm, averagely 27 degrees.

DEPARTING THE SHIP

A day or so before the voyage ends, your stateroom attendant will deliver a disembarkation letter and a set of coloured luggage tags to your room. The letter will tell you what time you are due to disembark. On the day, you will be called by group number or colour code. You should stick to these staggered times to avoid congestion at the gangway.

If you’re not happy with the time you have been allocated, just speak to guest services at reception as soon as possible rather than waiting until disembarkation day.

For ease, most people put their luggage outside their door on the evening of the last night, so that the porters can take the luggage for you and it will be in the terminal already the following morning, so all you have to do is walk off the ship with your hand luggage.

However, if you do not wish to do this you can of course keep hold of your luggage and opt for “self disembarkation”. This usually means you can leave the ship as soon as disembarkation has begun. If you have plans to travel ASAP after the cruise ship docks at Miami we would recommend taking this option, otherwise you may be allocated a time in the morning at 10am/11am etc. and will have to wait for your bags.

OUR TOP TIPS & GENERAL INFO:

  • All purchases made on board, that come at an extra cost will be added to your account, which is required to be settled at the end of the trip. A bill will be posted to your room the day before you leave the ship to be settled.

  • Each of you will have some on-board credit already added to your account as part of the offer at time of booking. Use your on-board credit to dine in one of the specialty restaurants.

  • If you are planning to get off the ship head to the buffet for a quick bite to eat beforehand or as you get back as nothing is included as soon as you step foot off the ship.

  • Do some research and see where you want to go for your days on shore to make sure you make the most of it.

  • Book restaurant reservations/shore excursions/spa treatments etc. ASAP as they get sold out extremely quickly.
